Despacito's popularity Despacito reached its peak in the year 2017. In 2020 the year 2020, 41 mainly Spanish songs will be included in the top 100. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish-language version in 2017 shortly after which the most well-known artists began collaborating with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) and Madonna worked on Medellin with Maluma (2019). By 2020 a few reggaeton stars were complaining about its inclination towards mainstream. However, a younger generation, led by Rauw Alejandro, sought to continue the evolution of reggaeton. It was often associated with electronic dance as well as different styles.
