Madekwe, a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into an ethnically diverse family from South London. Her father and mother were both English. She was raised in the south of a London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned an acting BA. She appeared on stage in numerous productions during her time at school like the King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress, who was born into a big family. Her parents were Patty and Roy Leggat. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty along with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's family, which is all athletic, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in winters. Ashley did not walk, but she did dance, so when she was two and a half she began Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. That was the start of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley competed in top-level divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated in high school. Ashley was awarded the best soloist awards at all of the main dance contests, including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance to name a few.
