She was 18 when she portrayed the daughter of Joan Crawford in 1972 television show The Sixth Sense. Joan was the last actress to appear in the series. Carpenter has claimed that he was interested in her but she declined. Anne did not remember John Carpenter contacting her or giving her the role. Perhaps one of her representatives turned down the role on her behalf, without ever informing the actress. Glen Larson, who had sent a rough script of the role she was to perform in the television production Battlestar Galactica from 1978, at first, she was chosen. She initially refused the part since the character wasn't robust. Glen was later able to write a character for her which featured a strong character called Sheba. The Living Legend was accepted when she was able to read the initial 25-page script. It lasted for a single season. She co-starred in Joyride along with Desi Arnaz Jr., Melanie Griffith (the daughter of Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucille Bell), Robert Carradine and Melanie Griffith in 1977 and in The Dark Tower with Michael Moriarty (1987).
