JessicaJessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on 10 July 1980 is an American singer-actress, actress as well as entrepreneur and philanthropist. After singing in church choirs as a child, Simpson signed with Columbia Records in 1997 at seventeen. Her first studio album, Sweet Kisses (1999) was a huge success, selling two million copies across the United States and saw the commercial huge success of the hit single "I Wanna Love You Forever". Simpson decided to adopt a more mature image for her second studio album, Irresistible (2001), and the title track became her second highest-rated entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It sold 3 million copies across America. Simpson was well-known for her relationships with Nick Lachey and her wedding to Nick Lachey. Simpson also appeared on MTV's reality TV show Newlyweds, Nick and Jessica, between 2003 and 2005. Simpson's first Christmas album ReJoyce was released in 2004 and was certified gold. The actress made her film debut in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. The singer also performed an original cover of "These Boots Are Made for Walking" for the film's soundtrack. Simpson released her fifth studio album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and appeared in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson made her debut in country music when she released Do You Know (2008) her sixth studio album. Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion-oriented line with 34 product categories. To date, the brand has generated more than $1 billion in sales and is the most profitable ever licensed by a celebrity. Simpson also appeared in The Price of Beauty, an upcoming reality show on television in the year 2010. She also supervised the fashion designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married Eric Johnson with whom she has three kids.
